What can you say about this statement? Your tongue senses different tastes in different areas.
There was a time when people believed that the different sections of the tongue are meant to taste different flavors but according to research, this is not true. There are some parts of the tongue that are more sensitive to certain flavors but the whole tongue can taste the different flavors that you will place in your mouth. This is because of the taste buds that you have all over your tongue. This is responsible for your sense of taste. There are different tastes that you may experience. The first four are common: sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. The fifth taste is considered to be umami. Take note that some people may taste more flavors than others.

Is it a fact or fiction that the earth rotates about its axis approximately 366.25 times for each revolution about the sun?
FactHard to believe, we know. To simplify it, a day is defined by the time it takes for the sun to get to the same part of the sky as it was the day before. It takes more than one spin to complete a day, because we have to make up for the distance weve moved around the sun. What are direct and indirect characterization and how they are different from each other? Use examples from The Secret Life Of Bees to help explain your answer.
Direct and indirect characterization have many similiarities and differences. they are similiar because they are both types of characterization and they both help give the reader a sense of the characters. even though they both help the reader, they do it in different ways. direct characterization tells the reader how something is without implying it in any way. indirect characterization is the opposite, as it imply information through dialogue, thoughts, actions, etc. an example of indirect characterization from the novel would be on page 128, when lily realizes that she is actually crying for zach. it shows that she is very confused with her emotions. basically it is just implying that she is still a child and she still doesnt know exactly what is going on in her life. this example is totally different from an example of direct characterization where the author would just come out and tell you that she is confused about her feelings.

Is it a fact or fiction that a diet with a higher percentage of carbohydrates (or sugars) causes weight gain?
    1. fiction-carbohydrates do not cause weight gain unless they contribute to excess calorie intake. the same holds true for protein and fat. findings from the national weight control registry show that people who successfully maintain weight loss tend to eat diets that are higher in carbohydrates and lower in fat, in addition to watching their total calorie intake. however, some people who eat a diet that is extremely high in carbohydrates and low in protein and fat get hungry sooner, which may trigger overeating.
