There are three types of events that can be specified when scheduling BusinessObjects Enterprise objects to run: File events, Schedule events and Advanced events.
A file-based event waits for the appearance of a particular file which serves as a trigger causing the event to occur. The file can either be newly created or it can be updated.
Even when events are being used, the scheduled object's recurrence pattern determines how often the report runs. For example, a daily report that depends on a Schedule event will run a maximum of once per day.
A job that has been scheduled to run when an event has not occurred yet will fail.
Categories must be set up to reflect each user's personal requirements.
