In most instances we will allow return of furniture within 48 hours after the approval of management. However, if the furniture has been reordered because the customer took from our warehouse stock and we cannot cancel the order with the manufacturer, restocking fees may be applied to the customer. We expect customers who have committed to purchasing with us to follow through with the purchase. We replenish our stock accordingly.

Best practice would be as soon as you know the customer is committed, get the warehouse working on pulling the item and ensuring satisfactory condition. If you wait until the customer is at the counter you are requiring them to wait as well until the warehouse is ready which could be lengthy.
