Every month we go over how much each member used their phones over the last month and then send them a recommendation for the goodybag or pay as you go rates that they should choose to use giffgaff as cheaply as possible.

It's a fairly common mistake for members who aren't used to the way that giffgaff do things to assume that topping up with credit is the same as buying a goodybag. You need to carefully explain step by step how to buy a goodybag using credit.

Sometimes new members aren't sure of the difference between a goodybag and credit, so make sure you explain clearly if they seem confused.

To qualify you need to buy something with giffgaff every three months. Using existing credit to buy a goodybag does not count.

Roaming means that you are abroad and trying to use giffgaff. Don't get confused between this and international calling which is calling from the UK to elsewhere.

Any page that you might have to visit on giffgaff in order to top up or buy a goodybag is zero rated by
us. This means that it's free to access so that if you ever get caught out you can always access it
to top up again.

Note that it is not free to access the community, this is because it pulls data from other sites which we don't zero rate.

If a giffgaff to giffgaff call goes over 60 minutes it starts to be charged as if it were a normal call, so if your call goes over 59 minutes just hang up and dial again.

We send a recommended plan to members every month, but if you want to check up in the middle of the month just text "plan" to 43430 and we'll text it over to you.

All calls that last between 0 and 60 seconds are charged as if they were a minute long, so it will cost you 10p.

We believe that a free number should be just that, so all 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers really are free. The rest all charge us for being called, but often if you search around on the internet you can find a free alternative to them, so it's worth having a look.

Since your downloads were going to be used on your phone your usage is perfectly fine and you don't risk your internet being barred. We will never bar anyone's internet for exceeding any amount within any time frame.

Any part of the site that starts with "giffgaff.com" is free to access so that you never get caught with your trousers down if you run out of credit. The community (community.giffgaff.com) however isn't free because it often pulls data from other websites so it would be impossible to do.

Voicemail is covered by your goodybag. A call to 443 costs 1 minute allowance per call.

Tethering or using your giffgaff SIM for any device is absolutely fine on a limited internet goodybag, gigabag or pay as you go credit. You cannot do any of these on an unlimited internet goodybag however.

If you are using pay as you go rates and do not have any goodybag then the you will be charged 20p for up to 20 mb. Every mb after 20 mb will cost you 20p each.

While calls that last under a minute all cost the price of one minute any calls over a minute are charged incrementally by the second.

It costs to receive a call while abroad. It is quite cheap in the EU and in selected countries, but it costs more outside of those countries. Make sure you give the correct price when asked about a specific country by checking http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

The Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar and various other states, countries and islands are charged under the EU roaming rate. Make sure that you check the right section if you're asked about it.

The prices to roam in the EU and selected countries are cheaper than the rest of the world. When someone asks what the price in a specific country is make sure that you're giving the right price by checking http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

We will never bar anyone's internet for exceeding 1gb per hour. This is only used by us as an indicator to check up on them. If they are using their internet properly then we're happy to let them carry on.

While it would normally cost 16p to send an MMS from Morocco to the UK, it costs more to send it to a non UK mobile.

There are several different international rates. There is one for calling the EU and other selected countries, one for calling the USA or Canada and a third for everywhere else. Make sure that you have the right rates when you're advising them.

It's a lot more helpful to give the member the exact price when they ask as the pricing page can be quite confusing if you're not used to it. Don't just give a link to http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

While the normal pay as you go rate for internet is 20p for the first 20mb and then 20p for each
subsequent mb that day we have a special rate for expired goodybags. It will only cost you 2p for
every mb that you use after your goodybag expires.

The police require us to charge for this number in order to reduce the amount of unnecessary calls that they receive. The emergency numbers (999, 112 etc) and the NHS 111 Service are all completely free.
