There are Three types of move orders

Requisition Move Order, Replenishment Move Orders, Pick Wave Move Orders

You can not change UOM after assigning it to an item. Best to inactivate or delte item and define a new item with similar name and assign new UOM.

There are three types of UOM Conversion

1) Standard : In this we specify how a Unit of measure is related to Primary UOM a same class For example 1 Dozen=12 Each

Item Specific : Thre are two types
2) Intra Class: Its a conversion between units of same class and its Item Specifi

For example for Item ABC, 1 Box= 24 Each and for Item XYZ, 1 Box= 15 Each

3)Inter Class : Its the conversion between unit of measure of different UOM Class

For Example: For Milk, 1 Liter (UOM Class is Volume)=1 Kg (UOM Class is weight )

An item can be both Lot and serial Control.

There are 6 KFF in Inventory and they are

System items, Item catelog , Item categories, Account alias, Stock locator, Sales order

Defining unit of measure classes is required before you can define UOM and its a mandatory Setup.

Subinventories are unique physical or logic locations and you must define at least one subinventory. You can define two types of subinventories : Storage and Receiving

Storage : Used to store the material. You must define at least one Storage Subinventory
Receiving: Only used to receive the material

It depends on INV: Updateable item name. If its Yes then you can update and If its No then you can not.

Item status attributes are used to enable/disable key functionality of an item. For example if you enable purchasable then you item can be placed on PO.
