A showcase portfolio is a curated collection of a student's most impressive and representative works, designed to highlight their skills, creativity, and achievements. It serves as a visual and tangible demonstration of their abilities and growth over time. This type of portfolio is often used for presentations, job applications, or college admissions, allowing students to effectively communicate their talents and experiences to potential evaluators or employers. By focusing on quality and relevance, a showcase portfolio enhances a student's ability to stand out in competitive environments.

Contextualized assessment emphasizes the application of knowledge in real-world scenarios, allowing learners to demonstrate their understanding through practical tasks. Unlike decontextualized assessments, which may focus on rote memorization, or summative assessments that evaluate overall learning at the end of a period, contextualized assessments are designed to reflect authentic situations. Creating is the highest level in Bloom's Revised Cognitive Domain, where individuals synthesize information to generate new ideas, concepts, or solutions. "Audience" identifies who will be learning, "Behavior" specifies what the learner will be able to do, "Condition" outlines the circumstances under which the behavior will occur, and "Degree" defines the level of proficiency expected.
