The angel was in the graveyard and it cut Serafina's hand, she remembered it and used the sword to help rid her of the cloak!
It symbolizes the fight of good against evil......the black cloak was evil and was winning, but when Serafina utilized the angel's sword, the fight changed to illustrate good defeating evil!
The angel was in the graveyard and represented death ---therefore the cloak had to die when it ran up against the sword!
Hope is strong and defends all
The Man in the Black Cloak was killing all the townspeople in the abandoned village
The Man in the Black Cloak absorbed her human side and since she was pure mountain lioness, she couldn't care for a human baby
She just truly didn't want anymore children
Serafina scared her/she thought that Sera would be deformed so she wanted someone to take her off her hands

He went out looking for her even though he needed to work on the dynamo desperately and get it fixed for the Vanderbilts
He went to the Vanderbilts to ask for help in finding her even though he'd hidden her from them for years and knew they could become angry/he could lose his job and livelihood
The people it had absorbed came back just as they were when absorbed
The spirit of the cloak absorbed the angel and the lioness
Serafina and Gidean celebrated and rejoiced then walked back to Biltmore House alone

She wanted to make everyone feel safe, she knew if she told them about the bizarre cloak they would feel unsafe and scared!
She knew that they were adults and would not understand and/or believe her, so she made up a story about how the children got lost.
She wanted everyone to leave her mom alone and was afraid they would go to the lion's den to check for the man in the black cloak if she told them the whole truth.
She just simply wanted to lie to everyone to see if anyone could figure it out then she'd know who she could trust.
