When an opossum climbed over him
With a terrible stomach ache
When he had a nightmare
After hearing a plane
Brian was sunburned.
Brian vomited because of the pain from the cut on his leg.
Brian ate too many berries.
Brian had a cold.
His father's boat
What he and Terry had done last summer
What he could eat at home
His mother's affair
Decided he must find a different food to eat
Decided to eat only the ripest gut cherries
Decided to eat nuts
Inside his shelter
By the lake near his shelter
In the woods
In the berry patch
The rain keeping the mosquitoes from coming out at dusk
Drinking the syrup from the raspberries
Finding a spear shaped limb
Walking in the rain
Brian’s mother and dad got married.
Terry showed Brian how to build a fire.
Brian fought wild animals.
Terry and Brian went swimming at the pool.
By rubbing two sticks together
By using the sparks from the hatchet
With a match
With a magnifying glass
Catching a fish
Hitting a tree
Throwing it at a porcupine
Fighting a bear
Down by the Lake
The Land of Plenty
A Strange Visitor
The First Fish
Brian scrambled out and shook in the morning sun and stretched his back muscles and his sore leg.
He swung harder, held the hatchet so it would hit a longer, sliding blow, and the black rock exploded in fire.
I can't take it this way, alone with no fire and in the dark, and next time it might be something worse, maybe a bear.
His fingers gingerly touched a group of needles that had been driven through his pants and into the fleshy part of his calf.
Brian will sleep more soundly from now on
Brian will build a fire
Brian will find a new shelter
Brian will stay away from the berry patch
