This Is A Quiz About Internet Network and Connections

The most common network card used to physically attach a computer to a network is an Ethernet Network Card. This type of network card allows the computer to connect to a network using Ethernet cables, which transmit data through electrical signals. Ethernet is widely used in both wired and wireless networks, providing a reliable and efficient means of communication between devices.

The statement "Internet stands for Interconnected networks" is true. The term "Internet" refers to a global system of interconnected computer networks that communicate with each other using standard internet protocol suite (TCP/IP). These networks can be private, public, academic, business, or government-owned, and they are interconnected through various wired and wireless technologies. The internet allows for the exchange of information, communication, and access to resources and services worldwide.

Networking has several advantages, such as quick document delivery, preserving information, and redundancy. However, virus and malware are not considered advantages of networking. In fact, they are major concerns and disadvantages of networking. Viruses and malware can spread through network connections, causing damage to systems, stealing sensitive information, and disrupting operations. Therefore, the presence of viruses and malware is not an advantage but a potential risk associated with networking.

A computer network is a group of computers and peripheral devices that are connected together to share information and hardware resources. It allows for the efficient transfer of data and resources between different devices within the network. This enables users to access shared files, printers, and other resources, as well as communicate with each other through email or instant messaging. Computer networks are essential in modern-day communication and collaboration, as they facilitate the sharing and exchange of information between individuals and organizations.

The statement is incorrect because MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) is not created for an individual person. It is a network that covers a larger geographical area, typically a city or metropolitan area, and is designed to connect multiple local area networks (LANs) together. MANs are used to provide high-speed data transmission and internet connectivity to businesses, organizations, and government agencies within a specific region. Therefore, MANs are not created for individual use but rather for connecting multiple users and networks within a larger area.

Routers have a wireless antenna because they are devices that connect multiple networks together and allow devices to access the internet wirelessly. The wireless antenna in routers enables them to transmit and receive data wirelessly, allowing devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets to connect to the internet without the need for physical cables. Routers act as a central hub for network connections and the wireless antenna is a crucial component that enables wireless connectivity.

Each computer in a network is referred to as a "node". This term is commonly used to describe any device that is connected to a network, including computers, servers, routers, and switches. The term "node" emphasizes the idea that every device in a network plays a role and contributes to the overall functioning of the network.

The given statement is false because the correct term for the ports used in a Hub/Switch is RJ-45, not VJ-45. RJ-45 stands for Registered Jack-45 and is the standard connector used for Ethernet cables. VJ-45 is not a recognized term in networking. Therefore, the statement is incorrect.

PAN stands for Personal Area Network. It is a network that connects devices within a short range, typically within a person's workspace or immediate surroundings. HAN, which stands for Home Area Network, is a type of PAN that specifically refers to the network within a person's home. Therefore, the correct answer is HAN.
