Both of us together
Both of us together
A few days before the holiday, time to shop for a few essentials if I’ve forgotten.
The morning we leave, nothing like leaving it until the last minute!
At least five days before and I’ve been planning my holiday wardrobe for weeks.
Tea bags - if all else fails, at least I’ll be able to have a cuppa.
Guide book – there’s no point getting to my destination without a clue what there is to do.
Extra money – so I can buy everything I forgot to pack in my haste.
Neither of us
Following my nose
Yes, there is absolutely no shame in seeking information from locals.
No, never, asking for directions is admitting defeat!
Maybe, but only after I’d driven around for another ten minutes and tried to find it myself!
Yes, hasn’t everyone?
No, there’s no point in making the situation even worse.
No, we never need to, we’ve never got lost.
By the coast – beaches, clifftop walks, swimming and sea breezes – pure bliss!
In the countryside – tranquil villages, nature walks and complete peace and quiet, perfect for a bit of R&R.
In the city – a holiday is all about exploring and cultural discovery, I love excitement and the city is where it’s at.

In the city
Don't have a clue!
A holiday cottage
We both take about the same
Read a book.
Have a snooze in the sunshine.
Go for a stroll or a swim, I like to keep active.
Yes, if only to make family and friends jealous!
No, postcards are so 10 years ago!
I buy them and forget to send them!
Both the same
I go prepared with in-car charger and check there’s access to internet at my destination. I download apps from local tourism boards and use my phone for researching places to go while away.
I take my mobile in case of emergencies, but barely use it, I’m too busy chilling out.
I’m always on my phone, uploading photos to Facebook and Instagram, texting friends and surfing the net.
Sad that it’s over, we had such a great time and could have stayed longer!
Happy, a week with the other half is long enough!
Indifferent, the holiday was fantastic, but there’ll be others to look forward to.
