The purpose of the  youth account indemnity form is to give the parent signing authority.

    • A.

      True

    • B.

      False

    Correct Answer
    B. False
    Explanation
The purpose of the indemnity form is not to give the parent signing authority, but to remove the warning and allow withdrawals from the account by the account holder (Child). Basically this means that BCU can hold the parent responsible for inapropriate account activity, and we have them sign this because we can't legally enter into a contract with a minor.

Going forward FSOs will set up new RRSP line of credits with a status of  0 so that no further funds can be advanced by members.

    • A.

      True

    • B.

      False

    Correct Answer
    B. False
    Explanation
We recently learned that members were unable to make payments online to an RRSP Line of Credit Loan. This was due to the fact that once the funds from a RRSP Line of Credit Loan were advanced we changed the status so that no further funds could be advanced. However since there is no chequing account attached to a RRSP Line of Credit there is no danger of the member being able to advance more funds themselves. To give membes the ability to make payments to their RRSP Line of Credit online we have changed all these accounts with a status 0 to 1.

It's imporant to note that in branch we do have the ability to advance from the RRSP Line of Credit Loans, but this would only be done at the instruction of an FSO.

Going forward FSO's are to set up new RRSP line of credits with a status of 1. This is a new option for members and we will continue to recommend to our members to set up a monthly automatic payment to repay these loans.
