1. Our economy should

Be almost entirely controlled by the government with the goal helping the public.

Have minimal regulations and restrictions on corporations and businesses, yet prevent monopolies and trusts.

Have no restrictions nor interventions by the goverment.

Have the government moderately involved to help people.

2. Abortion

A woman should be able to decide if she wants to have an abortion.

Abortion should be allowed in some cases such as rape or health reasons.

Abortions should be outlawed in all cases.

The government should not intervene in a moral issue.

3. Death Penalty

Should be illegal.

Death penalty should be used only in extreme circumstances.

Should be legal.

4. Education Vouchers can be used to purchase education from any institution such as public schools or private schools.

Vouchers take away money from public schools and lower educator's pay.

Vouchers create competition and increase efficency

The government shouldn't pay for education

5. Enviroment

Oil is a good source of energy and drilling should continue.

We should explore other eco-friendly sources of energy and reduce consumption and pollution.

6. Assisted Suicide by physicians (a terminally ill pateint wants a doctor to help end his/her life painlessly)

It is immoral, the goal should be compassionate care and easing the suffering.

Should be legalized, people have the choice to decide if they want to die. It is wrong to force someone to suffer.

7. Global Warming / Climate Change

'Global warming occurs because of the use of fossil fuels' is a fact and measures should be done to prevent it.

Changing global temperature is natural, science has shown that global temperature change is natural.

8. Healthcare The Goverment should

Use a single payer system to provide healthcare to all.

Support free or low cost government controlled healthcare.

Support a competitive private industry. The uninsured will be helped by the private sector.

Not do anything involved with the healthcare industry except lower taxes.

9. Taxes

Should be high for the wealthy and a large government is necessary to address societal issues.

Should be equal and low for all, a small government is sufficient.

Should increase incrementally with income, the poor shouldn't be burdened with an equal tax, the rich shouldn't be heavily targeted.

Should be reduced to their bare bones. Only essential government programs should run.

10. Welfare

Is a safety net which provides for the needs of the poor and helps them get back on their feet.

Shouldn't be used long term. Opportunities should be provided whenever possible to develop self reliance. An exception to this would be people with disabilities.

Should be eliminated. Opportunities and hard work are a better option than Welfare.

11. Campaign Donations

Corporations are people and should be able to donate unlimited amounts.

Corporations should only be able to donate limited amounts of money.

The Government should fund campaigns entirely, no private donations.

12. Same-sex Marriage

Marriage is the union of people who love each other. All people should have the right to marry.

I'm not going to decide that for someone else.

Same-sex marriage shouldn't be legal.

13. Immigration

Illegal immigrants should have the same rights as American citizens.

Legal immigration is acceptable, but coming into the country illegally should warrant deportation.

The path citizenship should be easier, migration between countries should be easy. Illegal immigrants should not have equal rights.

14. Gun Rights

Guns should be totally illegal.

Guns should highly regulated. (No semi-automatics, full background checks, no online purchases or trades)

Guns should be lightly regulated. (Light background checks, machine guns not allowed)

All guns should be legal and unregulated.

15. Unions

Corporations should be controlled by the government.

Organized labor should be supported by the government because they work for worker's rights such as pay or work week length.

Unions give unnecessary power to workers and raise cost of business.

16. Budget Choose MOST accurate statement for your beliefs.

The government should increase funds for Education and not cut any programs.

The government should enforce equal cuts across the board.

Defense is most important and should not be cut.

All unnecessary programs should be terminated.

Government should increase money going to social programs.

17. Legalizing Drugs

All drugs should be legal.

Low risk (marijuana, alcohol tobacco) drugs should be legal.

Maintain current laws on substances.

No substances should be legal.
