The retired Hungarian swimmer achieved a lot during his career as a competition swimmer. One is the fact that he is regarded as the first competition swimmer to complete the 200m medley within 2 minutes. 186cm tall Darnyi won four gold medals in 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games and received an award from the Swimming World Magazine in 1991.
