Captain James T Kirk

Name: James Tiberius KirkShow: Star Trek:The Original Series, Star Trek Movies I-VIIOccupation: Starfleet Captain, AdmiralMarital Status: BachelorAffiliated Groups: Starfleet, Crew of the USS Enterprise, Galactic BachelorsHome: Earth, Captain's Quarters - USS Enterprise,Captain Kirk has the world at his fingertips, and the stars not even his limits. Captain Kirk is the good-natured, boyish leader of the starship enterprise. Kirk isn't the brightist member of the ship, nor is he the strongest, but if it wasn't for him McCoy and Spock would have killed each other by now. His leadership ability also derives from his willingness to think outside the box, rather than adhere to accepted methods, this may get him into trouble with the more rigid members he encounters, Kirk is the pathfinder, and innovator whose exploits have found their place in the history books.A natural leader, what Kirk lacks in innate abilities he compensates for by bringing out the best in those under him. His quick-thinking, charisma, and courage has gained him the admiration of both Starfleet, his enemies, and those of the fairer sex. Kirk is able to befriend most people, even the most varying personas, and is not afraid to confer with his comrades.Captain Kirk does not follow the prime directant to the letter, but he understands its spirit, and takes it upon himself to do what he knows to be right. A valliant Crusader, Kirk knows that in deep space, someone has to fight for those who would otherwise be taken advantage of. He may not be the most eloquent member of Starfleet, and is at times overbearing, but Captain Kirk's place in starfleet is well earned, and smarter and stronger men, have still fallen before him.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Name: Jean-Luc PicardShow: Star Trek:The Next Generation, Star Trek Movies VII-XOccupation: Starfleet CaptainMarital Status: SingleAffiliated Groups: Starfleet, Crew of the USS Enterprise D, Alpha Quadrant Shakespeare CompanyHome: Earth, Captain's Quarters - USS Enterprise,Almost antithetical of the previous enterprise captain James T. Kirk, his more uptight predecessor is a effective cammandor in his own right, although not as exciting as Kirk. Picard would seem to be more in place on a Ship of the Line Brigatine than on a Galaxy-Class starship, but it is this stature that has gained him the respect he otherwise wouldn't necessarily earn. Like a well-oiled machine, Picard keeps the enterprise at top efficiency through order and discipline, as well as a thourough knowledge of his crews abilities. An older man, Picard has had his share of fantastic adventures, and enjoys reflecting on them. Jean-Luc is far more erudite than his peers, which leaves him as both an imposing figure, and sometimes a bit pompous and elitist.Picard is deep rooted in tradition, and refuses to bend the rules unless absolutely necessary. This rigid nature is also reflected in his situational leadership, as he tends to play by the book. This steadfast nature to his credit has made him a man of principle, and authority making him respected in diplomatic circles, as well as a caution that allows him to choose his battles.Picard has a taste for the finer things in life: prefering a  night reading melvile or a bit of wine, but this isolates him from the social habits of his crew, who are not as fond of Bach as he. Picard is seen by his crew as being more of a paternal figure, than as a best friend, and he is not afraid to offer his advice and assistance in this respect.
