The Earth's core is divided in two parts: the outer core (liquid) and the inner core (solid).
The lithosphere is an outer layer of the geosphere, combination of crust and the upper part of the mantle. It is fragmented. And it is floating in the mantle, the astenosphere is not considered a continuous layer anymore.
