What is the position of point A in the x axis only?

  • 2.

When expressing the position of an object in component form, we first express the x value first then the y value next.  Because its a vector we need to express the direction. To express direction we express the value for the x direction times x plus the value for the direction in the y times y, so forh point A the position is  A = 5x + 6y .  This is slightly different then the mathematical equation A = 5x + 6y in that in physics x and y are whats called a unit vector and not a variable x and y.  A unit vector is an arrow that points in the direction of x or y and has a size of one unit (such as meter, newton, m/s, etc..........).  What is the position of the point A in component form?

  • 3.

What is the position of point B in component form?

  • 4.

What is the position of point C in component form?

  • 5.

What is the position of point E in component form?

  • 6.

The mathematical expression for a position vector is done without out the x and y directions expressed.  Instead mathematicians express the x value first then the y next separated not by a plus sign but a coma all of this inside a parentheses.  So the posisition of point A is (5,6). So what is the position of point A expressed mathematically?

  • 7.

So what is the position of point B expressed mathematically?

  • 8.

So what is the position of point C expressed mathematically?

  • 9.

So what is the position of point D expressed mathematically?
