What Kind Of Squid Are You?

You are a very large squid. In fact, you are the largest invertabrate on the planet. You have eyes as big as basketballs and you're between 33 and 53 feet long. That's the size of a schoolbus. You have eight arms and two tentacles and are extremely fast and agile in the water. You maneuver your massive carcass with fins that seem too small for your body. You use your funnel as a propulsion system, drawing water into the mantle, or main part of the body, and forcing it out the back. Squirt! You live way down deep in the colder parts of the oceans around places like Norway, Newfoundland and New Zeland. Nobody saw you in your natural habitat before 2004.  You eat medium sized fish and smaller squid. You use your tentacles to hold onto prey and to squeeze it. You are a very large squid.You have a doughnut-shaped brain and your esophagus runs right through it. You are 39-46 feet long but your brain weighs less than half a pound. You have to tear your food into very small pieces with your tentacles so your won't hurt your brain when you swallow. True story. You live thousands of feet below the surface of the ocean between the tip of South Africa and Antarctica. You're not as agressive as peoiple might think. You take a "sit and wait" approach to finding supper and your metabolism is quite slow, so you don't eat much for your size. You have the biggest eyes of anything on the planet.
