LIB provides free water to eliminate the use of plastic. Please don't buy plastic. We'll have canteens for sale if you forget yours. Please do not allow anyone to use the water spigots for anything but drinking water, they have filters that will get worn out and are not low flow aerated so it will waste water. It will also create a huge messy puddle that no one appreciates!

Please help others when they seem clueless. You can also always direct other people to the festival booklet if they need help.

Please do NOT take any other Lightning Team supplies with you at the end of your shift. It is very important that you check out to confirm your hours, as well as report any helpful information to the managers.

Our pack it in pack it out policy means anything you brought you must take home, including trash. This includes if a camper is taking the shuttle out. Please make sure they bring their waste onto the shuttle with them, and off the shuttle when they get off.

If you see a bag(s) of trash left behind, you should do all of the above. This means that if the culprits are still nearby, you should request them to take the trash home. Additionally, you should notify someone with a walkie to call the Green Team immediately to get rid of the pile before it accumulates. Lastly, you should bring the trash to a waste station monitor rather than leaving it behind.

Make sure you are well prepared when you get to your shift, as you will not have time to run to the bathroom or to your camp site to get any supplies. You will not have time to be doing any reading, you will need to be fully attentive during your shift. If you show up to your shift and you are not sober, you cannot serve your shift and your credit card will be charged for the ticket price.

Styrofoam goes in landfill. All the others are hazardous materials which campers must take home to dispose of. Additional hazardous materials include anything with chemicals (bug sprays, non eco-cleaners, turpentine), any automotive goods (motor oil), or electronics (cell phones, anything with a plug). (Of course any of these things will not be provided by the festival and any campers' trash should ALL go home with the camper anyway!!)

Campers who did not bring trash bags can go to all of the above options. The campground manager booths, waste station monitors, and general store are all places where campers can likely find or obtain trash bags. These locations are commonly available in campgrounds to provide campers with necessary supplies and assistance, including trash bags for proper waste disposal.

Know who is bringing which waste stream home, and look up a RePlanet recycling center on google before you go, so you can drop off your recyclables and get money for them!
Bring a bucket (w/ a lid!) for your compost food scraps so you can leave it with us and have no stink to deal with.
If you do these things, you will have barely any landfill trash to take home!

Waxed paper boxes with plastic lids cannot go in recycling. They can go in compost unless they have plastic lids (like soy and nut milk boxes).
No liquid or food residue in the recycling – it should go in as empty/dry as practical.
No soiled paper in recycling: it can go in compost, even if it is waxed cardboard

All papers, woods, and organic decomposable materials are compostable. Anything from the vending area, including straws, will be compostable material. Waxed paper that does NOT have a plastic or foil top IS compostable (e.g. milk or juice cartons that are not re-sealable).
