Additional Work Order Vs. Change Order

Absolutely! Either plan check asks for it (that's preapproval) or it's coming from the client or Designer, then you need to do the Change Order Request Zoho. We don't know we're missing something unless you flag us to look!

If it's installed--- it's an AWO. If it's NOT installed it's a Change Order. If it's installed, you are doing Additional Work. If it's NOT yet installed, you are making Changes.   If it's Additional Work it is AFTER install.   AWO = AFTER

Nope!   All paperwork..... every time-- goes through the [email protected] e mail addres. All of it. Always. 

Whoa! Double check that statement-- can you just submit paperwork for a sold and not yet installed job? Can you make changes to a job that we have not yet installed without running it by someone to see if we can make it happen? Nope and nope, this is a change order-- and as such you will need to submit the change order request ticket and if it's urgent, make a call into a manager to see if we can make this happen. We need to check what factors may need to be considered before any promises are made and documents signed.

An AWO (Additional Work Order) is used when the job is under $500. This means that if the cost of the job is less than $500, an AWO is used to document and authorize any additional work that needs to be done. This allows for proper tracking and approval of any additional expenses incurred during the job. Therefore, the statement "An AWO is used when the job is under $500" is true.

An AWO is submitted just like any other job. Call anyone in customer service (or send an email) to obtain a NEW job number, submit your zoho form and call in for a date for a) you to pick it up b) the client to pick it up c) the office to install or, as a last resort that you have charged for d) mail out. Any way you slice it, you call this in like a regular job. It is assigned a date just as any other job.

Hey! You better have selected False.....we do plenty of things to torture you but this ain't one of 'em!  We genuinely want to make sure that your clients get what they want, and that we do everything to support you along the way. This means that we understand that you don't know all of the behind-the-scenes on how we make the sausage, and that's ok! You don't need to! All you need to know is that we need the heads up, then we can go look at all of the variables and work with you to navigate the next steps. Happy staff make happy clients and good communication is key to all of it coming together!

This would be submitted by requesting an installation date and would be assigned a date as any other item ordered. The designer would call or email customer service to get a new job number, then submit an installation request ticket. Pick-up dates are treated as installation dates and are true dates for pick-up. These take a minimum of 14 business days.

If you are the origin of the changes (your client requested them, you forgot something, etc.) then you will need to send a CO Request Zoho ticket to see where the job is in the process. While Plan Check can request a Change Order when needed -- they cannot offer pre-approval. Plan Check will only request COs, not approve them. So you wouldn't email your favorite plan checker (c'mon, they are all your favorite) and ask them if you can do it. When in doubt- Zoho it out! Okay that's not a great saying, but you get the idea. 

Nope! Just sell this like you would any other job you would submit an installation date request ticket. Send an email or call the office to get a new job number then submit the usual install request ticket for a date. This could be for you or the client to pick up, you to drop off, or installation. We do not ship additional work orders.  Be sure to consider any additional charges that may apply for installation; man hours, trip fees, etc. 

PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO SHIP OR DROP OFF YOUR AWOS!  Installers are a busy bunch and taking time out to drop off items is really inconvenient. Can we talk about how expensive and ineffective it is to ship shelves??  Take the opportunity to get some face time and drop them off--- and maybe chat about the garage storage they need while you're there! If your AWO requires installation, you will need to include the charges. Which you will need to determine and communicate with the client. This total will be included in your total for the AWO. Shipping is expensive and we often encounter damaged items, particularly when it comes to shelves. Even a tie rack has to be installed by someone and 'shipping' these usually turns into a service where we end up installing it anyway (for free....and taking time away from other clients).
