As the wife of Tom Buchanan, she is seen as a symbol of wealth and status. Gatsby himself is infatuated with Daisy and has built his entire life around winning her back, which adds to the intrigue and speculation surrounding her. Jordan Baker, although a prominent character in the story, does not attract as much attention or gossip as Daisy does.
