Detecting Emotion In Texting - Quiz

This is my psychology 102 project, detecting emotion in texting. Please read the texts below and fill in the blank with one of the nine fundamental emotions you think the speaker is displaying, i. E. If the text is "Go get the laundry," you need to decide if the speaker/texter is happy, sad, angry, disgusted, interested, guilty, shameful, surprised or fearful. You may only use each emotion once. Thank you!

Questions and Answers
  • 1.

I guess I'll see you tomorrow, then?

    Explanation
The given statement "I guess I'll see you tomorrow, then?" can be interpreted as a sarcastic or dismissive remark. The emotion of disgust or being disgusted is often associated with a strong feeling of aversion or revulsion towards something or someone. In this context, the speaker's tone suggests a negative reaction or displeasure towards the idea of seeing the person again, indicating the emotion of disgust. Therefore, both "Disgust" and "Disgusted" can be inferred as the correct answers.

The correct answer is "Interest, Interested." The phrase "The curve of the line isn't very severe" suggests that there is a gradual change or progression rather than a sudden or drastic one. This concept is closely related to the idea of having an interest or being interested in something, as it implies a gradual and sustained level of attention or engagement. That won't work.

    That was the last box.

    Explanation
The correct answer is "Shame, Shameful, Ashamed" because all three words are related to the feeling of embarrassment or guilt.
