EW, PEC, & TCAO: Notify a local onsite JD Duty Supervisor OR onsite Maintenance Supervisor
Take steps to keep others out of affected area
Is contamination of the outside environment possible (drains, soil, waterways etc)?
This notification is just to make the Supervisor aware of the spill.
Log information about the Spill during call if possible
Perform evacuation procedures if directed by TERT
Is the substance believed to be battery acid?
Notify IRT
Officers must leave an “urgent” message describing the nature of the spill and explain that the situation is on hold until the TERT member returns the call and makes a decision on how to handle the scenario.
