Industrialization primarily refers to the transition from economies based on agriculture to those centered around machine-based manufacturing. Great Britain was the first region to undergo large-scale industrialization in the late 1700s, driven by innovations in technology, such as the steam engine, and advancements in textile manufacturing. The availability of natural resources like coal and iron, along with a growing workforce and colonial markets, facilitated this transformative economic shift.

James Watt's steam engine revolutionized textile manufacturing by providing a reliable and efficient power source for machinery like spinning jennies and power looms. This innovation significantly increased production speed and capacity, transforming the industry during the Industrial Revolution and leading to the growth of factories and mass production in textiles.

Factory systems during industrialization led to a surge in job opportunities as industries expanded and required a large workforce.
