The Great Wall of China

An amazing architectural feat and worldwide famous wonder, the Great Wall of China winds up across the chinese mainland imprinted with history. Originally designed to keep the mongols from invading, the wall, almost 9000 kilometers long, was built over several dynasties.

The Forbidden City

One of the most famous tourist attractions in China. In the center of Beijing The Forbidden City is a marvelous piece of history. It was the home for the emperor and their housholds and as well served as the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese government for almost 500 years.

The Pandas of Chengdu

There are only about 1,500 pandas left in the world, of which 80 per cent are in the Sichuan province. The largest panda reserve in the world is very close to the city of Chengdu, which makes this possibly the best place to see the animal. The lovely animal, that unfortunately has quite a difficulty to breed, is a symbol of friendship and peace.

The Shaolin Temple

Famous for it's martial arts, the Shaolin Kun Fu, the temple is an important centre for buddhism and said to be the birthplace of Zen Buddhism. It is nowadays also popular with foreigners who come here both as tourists and to train martial arts. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and lush scenery.

Chang Jiang - Yangtze River

Chang Jiang, or more commonly known in the west as the Yangtze River, is the longest river in Asia and one of the greatest in the world. Beautifully diverse the river winds across the Tibetan plateu, the lush Yunnan, through the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge all the way to the three gorges and the gigantic dam, the worlds largest power station with regard to installed capacity.

Huang Shan - The Yellow Mountains

Said to be one of the most scenic places on earth the Yellow Mountains is a popular place for painters and photographers. It is well known for it's sunsets and peculiar shaped peaks covered with pine trees and often seen in paintings and heard of in literature and poetry.

Li River and Guilin

Li River and Guilin are considered by many to be the most beautiful places on earth. Along the 100 kilometer long river are many sights worth seeing and quite a lot of extreme sport activities to engage in. The city of Guilin, situated by the river, is surrounded by amazing peaks and has some of the most spectacular sceneries of the world. There is a popular saying describing the beauty of the city: "Guilin's mountain and water scenery is the best under heaven".

Victoria Harbour - Hong Kong

Hong Kong is known for it's skyline and deep natural harbour, Victoria Harbour. The harbour is situated in a dense urban region and is renowned for it's annual display of fireworks and it's spectacular views. An impressive sillhouette of skyscrapers and beautiful sunsets can be seen from the nearby mountain Victorias Peak.  

The Himalayas

Most people know of the mighty Himalayas, home to the worlds highest peaks, the eight-thousanders, including the famous Mount Everest and K2. This can be compared to the highest mountain outside of Asia, Aconcagua in Argentina/Chile, at 6962 meters. If you are not content just seeing the incredible view you could begin to ascend and, depending on your level of adventureness, try to reach the summit of one of the peaks.

The Water Towns

Imagine a Venice-like setting but with ancient Chinese architecture and spread over several towns. Traditional and cultural with a feeling of time standing still these towns are historical artifacts and well worth a visit. Very close to the big city of Shanghai theses towns still retain a sence of calm and ancient beauty.
