The word "viento" ends in -o and is a masculine noun, so we use the article "el".

The word "casa" ends in -a and is a feminine noun, so we use the article "la".

Plural, feminine nouns use the definite article "las".

Plural, masculine nouns use the definite article "los".

Remember that the word "manos" (hands) is feminine even though it ends in an -o.

The definite article "el" is used to say on what day of the week something happens.

A definite article is used in front of titles of people, unless you are talking directly with that person.

You only use the definite article to say what day of the week something happens on, not to say what day it currently is.

You use the definite article to talk about things in a general sense, in this example, mexican food.
