HO- Hobby Owner

Your business is not that important to you and that is okay. You are content working on your craft or providing your service with little need for monitary return or an increase in your platform. Which is good because loosing money or barely breaking even in your business will be the norm.  You don't spend much time on marketing to get the word out about what you do. Most of your clients come by word of mouth. From month to month you are not sure where your next client will come from. If I asked you where most of your clients come from you would have a hard time telling me.  You are foucsed on how your website looks and will spend a lot of time writing blog posts or updating graphics even though you don't have any clients this month. You spend a lot of time being 'busy'" but aren't seeing any tangible results. But that is okay because this is a hobby and you LOVE the work it doesn't matter how much you make.  You think that the lower your prices the easier it will be to turn a potential lead into a client and your prices reflect that. They are low and they are by the hour and that is how you like it. You sometimes think maybe I'll just give my services away!  You aren't sure how much money you will make in 2014. You will just play it by ear and see how it goes. OR you have a plan to go from zero to 6 figures this year but haven't asked for any help from a coach.  You are pretty sure that your business is different and networking isn't going to work for you. It's best to do it all from behind your computer, everyone else is. You love where your business is and are thrilled to be able to help the people that need you (all 10 of them.) It's gonna be small and maybe your expenses will someday be less than your revenue.  OR You just read that and HATED it. You want to grow. You want more clients. You want to make some freaking money and you want to know that it is coming in every month so you can breath. You want to make a big impact in the world and you have something amazing to share. If that is the case then it's time to put your big girl pants on and start making some changes.  I did it and went from HO to BO in a pretty short amount of time. I made a decision that being a HO wasn't cool anymore and I asked for help and got a coach. Best decision I ever made. Proud to say I am a hot BO now.

BO- Business Owner

Your business may not be your highest priority but you are dedicated and you know where you want to go and your actions reflect that.  You have a plan to hit your revenue goals for 2014. It is well thought out and you are confident that with the support you have you will be able to reach it. There is no mystery here.  You love what you do. In fact your business is an extension of who you are. You are building a solid platform so you can grow and begin to influence and affect thousands if not millions of people with who you are and what you do. You want to make money so you can live a life that is fun, joyful, and allows you to enjoy ALL things in life. You are not one to settle for "good enough." Most of your time is spend meeting new people and making new relationships in your field.  You understand that putting yourself "out there" is scary sometimes but you are willing to do what it takes to reach the level of professionalism you know you are capable of.  You have a wide network of entrepreneurs that you can rely on as well as a solid mentor/ coach because you know that isolation is the enemy of any entrepreneur.  Congratulations and welcome to the club!
