You've all heard about the Joint Commission and their visits to hospitals, but wanted to further explain what the Joint Commission is. It is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,500 health care organizations in the U. S. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an See moreorganization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
In order for Volunteer Services to meet this level of quality and commitment, we must be able to demonstrate certain competencies. Joint Commission will be visiting UMCB very soon. In preparation for our visit, we need for all volunteers to complete this review by Monday, May 4th. This is mandatory.
