The fireguard will be positioned at the APU station and will establish communication with the flight engineer's station.
During the start, the fireguard will closely examine th APU for evidence of leaks (fuel, oil, or hydraulic).
If any leaks or substandard conditions are noted, the fireguard will notify the flight engineer's station. The start will be aborted and the leaks or substandard conditions corrected prior to attempting another start.
The fireguard will comply with all the above.
