Remember harassment is sometimes a perception issue. However we can not initially ignore that until it has been properly investigated.
There has been a suggestion of illegal training. Asking the regional director to look into it is a reasonable request providing the parent has not been spreading it all around the pool. The infraction must be proven true. Even then if the parent bad mouths the swimmer or their family that would be considered harassment.
Often or not people's response to stress or crisis as they perceive it can be extreme anger.
A large component of harassment is poor communication.
Accommodate, Avoid, Compete, Compromise, Morally disapprove, and Collaborate are all parts of our response to conflict.
On the contrary it is more advisable to keep it simple and short. The goal is to diffuse, not further aggravate the situation.
False accusations are not permitted in any form of society let a lone BCSSA.
We all deal with confrontation differently. It may bother you for quite some time. In these circumstances you may want to seek counselling on dealing with confrontation.
Exclusion is a form of bullying. It is one of the reasons teachers pick teams at school instead of relying on the kids to do it.
Harassment need only be construed by someone. Furthermore it can be perceived by a third party.
Swim Canada (SNC) meets will have their own policies. While their policies may be similar they do not follow under the BCSSA umbrella. If you and your buddy are fishing you are again not under the umbrella of the BCSSA and as such comments would not apply to the BCSSA.
