Lesson Quizzes & Trivia

We are still studying the second hadeeth this lesson and during the next one inshaa Allaah. Please read the Explanation of Nawawi's 40 Hadeeths by Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen, available in English. If you are not memorising the hadeeths, then you might wish to skip the first two questions, as usual. Last lesson, the questions were mainly about the pillars of Islam; this lesson we cover the pillars of eemaan (true belief). I hope you do well!

In this hadeeth, Islaam and eemaan (true faith) are given different definitions. When do the words Islaam and eemaan mean the same thing and incorporate both meanings?

    Correct Answer
    B. When either of them is mentioned on their own

  • 3.

If a person wishes to have eemaan (true faith) is Allaah, is it enough to firmly believe that Allaah exists?

    • A.

      Yes

    • B.

      No

    Correct Answer
    B. No
    Explanation
There are four aspects to belief in Allaah. All four are needed by a person who wishes to have eemaan (true faith) in Allaah. It is not enough to simply believe that Allaah exists. A person must also truly believe that Allaah alone has Lordship, that Allaah alone must be worshipped and in all of Allaah's Names and Attributes.

The second pillar of eemaan is belief in the angels. Some the jobs they do have been mentioned to us. We love them all - those whose names we know and those whose names we do not know, since they are the servants of Allaah who uphold His command.

We do not accept in totality any of the Books of Allaah that we see today, except the Quraan. Why not?

The have all been distorted or tampered with.

    • C.

It is impossible to tell which parts are the direct words of Allaah and which are not.

    • D.

They are only summaries although the information is correct within them.

    • E.

The translations into English are not accurate.

    Correct Answer(s)
    B. The have all been distorted or tampered with.
    C. It is impossible to tell which parts are the direct words of Allaah and which are not.
    Explanation
The correct answer is that the other Books of Allah have all been distorted or tampered with, making it impossible to tell which parts are the direct words of Allah and which are not. This suggests that the reason for not accepting them in totality is due to concerns about their authenticity and accuracy.
