Creativity is not recognized as one of the six fundamental values of academic integrity by the International Center for Academic Integrity. The core values focus on principles like honesty, courage, and responsibility, which are essential in upholding ethical standards in academic work. While creativity is important in the educational process, it does not fall under the specific values that guide integrity in academic settings.

Unintentional plagiarism happens when an individual fails to properly credit sources due to mistakes in citation, inadequate paraphrasing, or disorganized note-taking. Unlike intentional plagiarism, which involves a deliberate attempt to deceive, unintentional plagiarism arises from a lack of understanding or oversight. This can occur when individuals are unaware of citation rules or misinterpret the original material, leading to unintentional similarities in wording or ideas.
