Avalyn Kayne

Plot: As she says, she is a 'Traveler with a capital T.' Avalyn is unique because she is not under the control of Detrina, goddess of Destiny--therefore, she can change the fate of a world. Unfortunately, her once-well-intentioned distant relative, John James, is also a Traveler; he murdered the entire Kayne family (in which every female member shares the ability to create solid forms of energy). Because of this, Avalyn left her homeworld for alternate realities and parallel universes. Personality: Avalyn is confident in her the capabilities of her body, her moral beliefs, and the purpose of her existence (to help people who need and deserve it). She has had many emotional ups and downs, which leave her wise, stable, and stronger than an apparently young woman would be--in actuality, she's 157 years old and still aging. A few stats: -Appearance: 5'1"; long, wavy black hair; bright blue eyes (which glow in the dark); a bright blue gem in the center of her back (which is where her Kayne powers come from) -Abilities (she's acquired quite a few): Kayne magic (generating physical energy), hydro/aero/pyro/terra-kinesis, emotional projection, siren magic (enchantments produced by singing, healing abilities, turning into a mermaid), Traveling (teleporting between versions of reality), elite gymnastics, dancing/singing in a performance context, use of various weapons (esp. staff, bow-and-arrow, throwing knives/throwing star), potion-making, flying -Friends: Chella, goddess of dreams/Avalyn's murdered cousin; the Harry Potter gang (Harry, Ron, Hermione, etc.); the Doctor; (basically any character from any book/movie/TV show I've ever liked) -Hobbies: reading, music (dancing, singing, etc.) -Fatal flaw: trusting too easily

Ava Oliver/Aivin

Plot: Ava seemed to be an ordinary high school kid, but that was only because she was hiding. She's actually an enchantress by the name Avin, belonging to the other world of magic that's pressed up so close to our own world as to be occupying the same space. When the dark magician whose bloodlust originally drove Aivin into hiding passes from their world to ours, she struggles to protect and save the people she can--her sixth-period history class. Personality: As Ava Oliver, she is easy-going, confident, and friendly, not standing out in athletics, academics, music, etc., but is generally liked by her peers. But when the circumstances change and she can no longer pretend to be carefree and innocent, she is outwardly brave and strong, but internally afraid, self-conscious, and feels alone among the classmates who seem ordinary as she is not. But both Ava and Aivin are clear-headed, quick-thinking, and compassionate. Stats: -Appearance: Average height, shoulder-length brown hair, gray-blue eyes, generally graceful in an athletic kind of way -Abilities: a basic range of spells, proficiency with potions (esp. when she has a book of recipes) -Friends: Corinne, Cameron, Aaron  -Hobbies: biking/hiking/walking outside -Fatal flaw: internalizing struggles/not asking for help
