Photosynthesis

After the water molecule is broken down, the oxygen is no longer needed and is released into the atmosphere.

The light reaction takes in both sunlight and water to create NADPH and ATP but does not recycle any of the components used. The dark reaction however, absorbs carbondioxide and uses the products of the light reaction to recycle every five out of six carbondioxide molecule it takes in. The other carbondioxide is used to make sugars for the plant

The stroma contains the correct enzymes for the dark reaction or "Calvin Cycle" to occur.

In order to function and create both ATP and NADPH, the light reaction requires both sunlight and water.

The entire point of photosynthesis is to create both fructose and glucose.
