1. The Amityville Horror
Everybody in Amityville knows about the house on Ocean Ave. Was it real or a hoax? Most people seem to think that it was just a hoax, but most famous paranormal investigators still maintain the house is haunted by an evil presense. In November 1974, Ronald DeFeo murdered his entire family. According to DeFeo he was being controlled by evil spirits and heard voices. He was sentenced to six life sentences. A year later Kathy and George Lutz moved in. They moved out after a month. They made incredible claims of black ooze coming from toilets, doors blown off hinges, unexplained teeth marks, a pit to hell in the basement, and of course the bleeding walls. It was a little too sensational for most people to believe.

2. Fatal Tan It was the day before a couple's wedding. The bride to be wanted to look beautiful in her white wedding dress so she went to a local salon to get a “healthy looking” tan. Afterward, she felt like she was still pretty pale so she lathered herself up with deep tanning lotion and visited every tanning salon in her town. The next day, right after the couple said "I do", the bride fell over dead.

3. The Cranbury Inn        I lived in NJ most of my life, even though I was born in NY. When I went to Walter C. Black Middle School, I had a teacher who worked at the Cranbury Inn. She told us all that it was haunted by the ghost of a man who was killed there in the 1790's. The man was run over by a stagecoach after having a few too many drinks. Apparently, ever since then he has been haunting the place he died, especially when the owners tried to renovate. As it was told, while my teacher was working there, the kitchen was beginning to be remodeled, and suddenly pots and pans started coming right out of the cabinets and striking people! I did hear that quite some time ago, so the preciseness of my memory may not be exact, but I assure you, that there is certainly something haunting the Cranbury Inn in Cranbury, NJ.

4. The Two Hitchikers
A salesman driving along the highway one day saw a hitcher and decided picking him up would be a good way to relieve his boredom. After he did, he immediatley regretted it, the man was large and menacing, and his questions about the salesman's business quickly made him nervous. Ahead he saw another hitchhiker and decided his best bet was to pick this one up too, especially since this one was well dressed and very clean-cut. As soon as the second hitcher got in the back seat he pointed a gun at the two men in the front and demanded their valuables. The front-seat passenger swung his arm back and smashed the robber in the head with his elbow, knocking him unconscious. Before the salesman could even say anything, the large man took the gun and all the unconscious robbers possessions and pushed him back out of the car. As he turned to the salesman, gun in hand, the salesman begged him not to hurt him, he'd do whatever the large man wanted. The large hitchhiker said: "Relax buddy, I'm not gonna rob you, it's my day off."

Fried Not Frozen 1)Rumor has it that Walt Disney was chryogenically frozen just after his death and his body was hidden beneath the Pirates of the Carribean exhibit at Disneyland. 2) Walt Disney, as near as can be determined, was cremated on December 17, 1966, two days after his death. 3) Disney was known to have been preoccupied with death, his funeral services were held in secret,and the cause of his demise was never formally announced.

6. Rat Dog The truck driver's wife works in Boston on the docks where this little white dog comes around at noon and everyone feeds it a little something from their lunch. The wife went home and asked her husband if he would mind if she got a dog. She told him about the stray that everyone has been feeding. He said that he didn't think she wanted a dog. She said it would be nice company since he was away from home a lot, so he agreed. The next time she went to work, she saw the little stray as usual. Everyone gave him something to eat and she coaxed the dog into her car and brought him home. She washed, cleaned and bathed him, and the dog slept with her in their bed that night and the next. The next day she came home from work and found the dog had eaten her beloved cat! Horrified, she was confronted with the gruesome sight of a large spot of blood on the floor and all that remained was her cat’s skull sitting nearby. The panicked woman called the veterinarian who told her to bring the dog right in. He could not do anything for the cat, but the bones from the cat could do injury to the dog. She brought the dog in to see the vet and was in the waiting room when one of the vet techs nervously asked her to step into one of the rooms immediately! When she got in the room the vet asked her where she got the dog and she told her it was a stray she found where she works near the docks in Boston. The vet told her the animal needed to be put down immediately. The stray she had taken in was not a dog, but a 40-pound Cambodian rat that came in from one of the ships in the harbor. The rat was so big that it looked liked a small dog with a little snub tail.

7. Disappearing Pond     In Monmouth County, New Jersey, on 18th Ave in Belmar at one time was the trail that native American men used to return from fishing in the ocean to where their "squaws" were camped at "Squankum" (near Allaire). At the approximate junction of 18th Ave and the present day Allaire Rd there was a large pond. One evening a large flock of geese landed on the pond. Overnight the pond froze. When the geese took off in the morning they took the ice that was attached to them away. There has not been a pond there since.

8. Haunted Gym There is a ghost who haunts Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, OK 40 years ago, there was some construction being done in the gymnasium of the High School. There was an accident and the roof collapsed. One of the workers fell 60 feet through the ceiling and died that tragic day. The spirit of this worker haunts the school and has been the cause of a high turnover in the janitorial staff. Custodians come and go, many quit when they encounter the spirit who makes his appearances mostly in the school gymnasium, where he fell. There is a soft, indented spot, on the gym floor where the man fell. .They say strange sounds can be heard when the spirit is around, like doors opening and closing and locking by themselves. Basketballs can be heard bouncing on the floor, when there aren’t any around and voices seem to be coming from the musty air in the gym.
