HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR GEOGRAPHY?

1. If Iraq were a continent and not a country would it be cold there year around and if you lived there could you see Russia from your back porch?

Yes. Cold year around and you could see Russia from your porch if you had a flashlight.

No! It's only cold there six months out of the year and porches in Iraq aren't built facing northeasterly for religious reasons.

Yes! Iraq is certainly like their neighbor to the south, Iceland. Not sure you can see Russia from there, but then I've never been so maybe you can...?

2. What country, or countries, border New Zealand to the south and north?

None. It borders Australia to the east and Antarctica to the west.

Latvia and Estonia. Too easy!

None. New Zealand is in the middle of the Arctic Ocean. The nearest country to her is Alaska. Duh!

3. Are there three or are there four oceans of the world?

There are four; Pacific, Atlantic, Indian and Arctic. Anyone with half a brain knows that one!

Three; the reason people think there are four is because of the four directions; north, east, south and west, but there are only three- Pacific, Atlantic and Indian. All of the others are actually seas.

Neither. There are six; Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, Northern Ocean and Southern Ocean. The seas are Mediterranean, Caribbean, South China, Bering, Okhotsk, East China, Japan, Andaman, North, Red, and Baltic. The Caspian sea is a lake.
