The American Carrom is a derivative of the Carrom developed around 1890. The American carrom boards have pockets built into the corners, as against circular holes in the board of the original Carrom, to make pocketing easier. The pieces are rings instead of disc including the striker piece. It's also good to know that because of the structure of the American carrom board, many American Carrom boards even double as Crokinole boards. Try this Quiz.
