A member of the Latin American Association of Music Schools, the Escuela Superior de Música Costa Rica offers academic programs under the highest standard of musical training for Costa Rica and Central America. ESM Costa Rica is a center for representation, preparation, and examination of the London College of Music Examinations and the RockSchool London Awards. ESM’s students can obtain from a Professional Technician to a Bachelor's Degree in popular music and/or classical. The autonomous institution provides high-quality musical training, both for people who would like to formalize their studies in some specialty as well as for those who, as an amateur, seek an alternative that meets their needs.

The pandemic caused chaos to institutions around the world. Since we're a music school that prepares its students for examinations with universities outside our borders, theoretical exams were an important issue to be solved instantly.

Keeping in mind the seriousness and commitment of our institution towards our students in their academic preparation, we quickly set out to search for platforms that would allow the faculty to create friendly and simple tests that would maintain our quality standards; that's where we came across ProProfs.

With ProProfs, we have managed to maintain our commitment to delivering education to the students of the institution. Music education is not common, we know it; but with the platform we have been able to illustrate in some way or another the staves for the theoretical and practical exercises as if we were doing it in person.

Security and cheating prevention in exams were other key difficulties that we had to solve. Being able to decide when students can enter the exam greatly assuaged our concerns. On the other hand, settings, such as the number of attempts allowed per student allowed us much more control.

Results from using the platform have been very satisfactory to the teachers and the students. Solving our evaluation problem has been a relief for us as an institution. We'd like to thank the customer service for being on point whenever we needed them!
