What is jumping from one website to another?

There is a difference between a person idly browsing and a researcher going from one site to another, and then back again, that is, checking the information contained on different websites and returning to his website to create an article on a topic. In this case, I think the SWITCH would be the best word. If you say, SURFING, the Internet, yes, you are going to different websites, but the suggestion is that it is more random and non-purposeful.

A person just browsing for something interesting will click here and there as the words, or more usually, pictures attract him and land on different websites, one after another. SURFING is the best word for this rather mindless, but addictive, activity.
