There are several reasons why fruit trees fail to bear fruit and it may fall in one of the two reasons: 1) Bearing age – Depending on what fruit you plant, their age matters when it comes to when they can start bearing fruit. An apple tree typically takes 2 to 5 years before it bears fruit, peach takes 2 to 4 years, plum takes 3 to 6 years and sour cherry takes around 3 to 5 years, 2) Climate and weather also affects why fruit trees fail to bear fruit – extreme cold temperature can ultimately kill the fruit buds thus, making it impossible for fruit trees to bear any fruit.

For example, if you planted an apple tree and the temperature drops to 2 degrees Fahrenheit, then 90% of the fruit buds will be killed. However, please note that these are not the only reasons why fruit trees fail to bear fruit, a simple research can help you understand more about the factors that you need to consider when growing fruits.
