The Warriors have been wearing the number 42 on all of their jerseys during this season. This is to honor Nate Thurmond. Nate Thurmond was 74 years old when he passed away. He accomplished amazing feats in the world of sports. He was an All Star 7 times and was even in the Hall of Fame. He passed away from cancer in July.
He was considered one of the best centers in the National Basketball Association. He played the majority of his basketball career with the Warriors (all but 3 seasons) and continued as a sports analyst after he retired from the sport.
