Most of chocolate chips are considered to be unhealthy foods. As a matter of fact, one cup of chocolate chips could have more than 800 calories. It also contains a lot of fat with over 50 grams. A cup of chocolate chips does have almost 30% of a person’s average daily amount of iron. It also has seven grams of protein. It doesn’t contain any cholesterol.

However, one cup of chocolate chips contains almost 150% of the amount of fat you consume in one day. That is an enormous amount and way over what you should be having in one day. Some chocolate chip cookie recipes are considered healthy based on the other ingredients in the recipe because the chocolate chips would not be the part that is healthy.
