The correct answer to this question is the Electrical attraction between the oxygen of a water molecule and then the hydrogen of another water molecule. This attraction is known as a hydrogen bond. Out of all the bonds that are in chemistry, the hydrogen bond is known to be one of the weakest. The hydrogen bond lets molecules bond to one another. However, it can also make bonds separate quickly.

Another characteristic of hydrogen bonds is that it allows water to have surface tension. Due to this, water molecules that are connected through this bond are able to hold one another up.

Hydrogen bonds are able to form between the different adjacent water molecules mainly because the positively charged hydrogen that can be found on one end of the water molecule will be able to interact with the negatively charged hydrogen that can be found in the other end of another water molecule.

Hydrogen bonds are going to be effective in making sure that water molecules will be linked closely together. This is the reason why water has high surface tension. For example, if you are cliff diving, you know that if you would land on water incorrectly, there is a big chance that you will hurt yourself.

Adjacent water molecules are connected by sharing electrons between the hydrogen of one water molecule and the oxygen of another molecule. This is called a hydrogen bond, which is one of the weakest bonds in chemistry. It allows molecules to bond to each other, but it also means that bonds can be separated quickly if needed.

The hydrogen bond in water also gives water its amazing surface tension. When a lot of water molecules are connected like this, they hold each other up. It’s why some insects can walk on the surface of the water and others can’t. If the insect doesn’t disrupt the surface tension, then it can walk across the water without falling in.
