Pronunciation is the way a word is pronounced. It deals with sound and dialect. The way a word is pronounced can vary upon the culture or language is spoken. Teaching pronunciation is essential so one can know how to properly articulate themselves, which should be the goal of both the student and teacher.

Pronunciation can go far and help one be better understood. Learning pronunciation should never end, even when one finishes school. If a person moves to another state or another country, they should learn the pronunciation so they can adapt to the different culture and allow for a smoother transition.

The aim is to find out which features of pronunciation are essential for clear articulation. Making communicative competence the goal of language teachings. A failure to learn pronunciation is a significant hindrance in language learning.

The purpose of teaching pronunciation should be to change from the more realistic goals of developing functional intelligibility development of speech monitoring strategies. Pronunciation has a critical social value.

There have been studies involving speakers to figure out all the pronunciation. Another goal of teaching pronunciation is to allow only native speakers to teach pronunciation.

To help students have intelligible pronunciation.-the answer is c. most teachers aim to help their students have pronunciation thats easy to understand, even if theres still some influence from their native language. this is a practical and doable goal. not a: although teachers sometimes assume that students should sound just like native speakers, for most people, this just isnt going to happen. and anyway, there are many, many different ways of sounding like a native speaker. its a nebulous goal. (its sort of cloudy and hard to define.) not b: while repetition is a valuable teaching tool, we certainly dont want students to just repeat words for many hours. the poor things would be exhausted! not d: good heavens, no! Many non-native speakers of english are wonderful pronunciation teachers.
