The answer is letter C. Cartilaginous fish, on the whole, are more intelligent than bony fish because of the size of their brains. When we talk about a cartilaginous fish, it just means that they are fish without bones. With this, they have a thing called cartilage which, in reality, don’t make good fossils. However, you must remember that even though cartilaginous fish do not have bones, they are known to have big brains compared to their body ratios.

The most common types of cartilaginous fish are rays and sharks – they have gills and can breathe under water, they are cold-blooded animals and they cannot survive in the air. What makes them more intelligent than bony fish is the fact that they are very curious and some pieces of evidence point out that they seek out human interaction other than food.
