The four regions of the United Kingdom are England, Scotland, Whales and Northern Ireland. The largest of these four regions is England which covers a land area of 130,395 square kilometers and with a population of more than 52 million people. Its capital is London with an estimated population of more than 8 million. The second largest of these regions is Scotland with a land area of 78,772 square kilometers and a population of more than 6 million people. Its capital is Edinburgh with a total population of more than 5 million people.

The third largest among these regions is Wales with a land area of 20,779 square kilometers and a population of more than 3 million people. Its capital is Cardiff with an estimated population of more than 300 thousand people. The smallest of these regions is Northern Ireland with a land area of 13,843 square kilometers and a population of more than 2 million people.
