Example: thomas thought about all of the problems in europe, and he wondered how the utopians would deal with many of these problems. raphael knew that some utopian traditions would be strange to thomas.the name of this point of view comes from the third person pronouns. here, the narrator is a being outside the story. the reader knows this because the narrator calls the characters by their names. third person pronouns like he, she, they, and them would also be used. this narrator is often viewed as a god or goddess looking down on the action of the story. this narrator is also omniscient or all-knowing. the narrator can describe the thoughts and feelings of more than one character in the story. in the example above, the narrator knows the thoughts of thomas and raphael.
