Yes, always-the modern diet can be deficient in the vitamins and minerals which are essential to the health of your cardiovascular system. for instance vitamin b3 (niacin) found in fish, nuts, vegetables and whole grains helps to regulate cholesterol levels more effectively than statin drugs. unless you eat a wholly organic diet, at least 7 portions of fruit and vegetables daily, and live in a pollution free environment, it is likely that your bodys requirements for vitamins and minerals exceeds your intake. a good quality multivitamin/mineral supplement is pretty much essential if you want to maintain good health. we recommend brands such as solgar, higher nature, natures aid. beware of buying cheap one a day supplements which only give 100% of the rda as they fall far short of what you actually need.
