There are many differences between Meiosis I and mitosis. However, the major difference that separates the two into different processes is that in meiosis I, the daughter cells have a random chromosome assortment that which comes from the parents. Whereas in comparison, in mitosis, all the pairs of chromes are totally identical.

Both Meiosis and mitosis are cell division processes that are taught in genetic biology, and on a simple level, in the biology courses in preschools and high-school. Both of these concepts are extremely vital to the study of genetics in the field of biology.
