DNA replication is semi conservative, this means that each strand of DNA serves as a template strand, each newly synthesized double helix is a combination of one old (original) and one new DNA strand. During replication, complementary bases old strand are added to the new synthesized strand. Guanine is the complementary base of cytosine, and adenine is the complementary of thymine. I and IV are not correct because they look exactly like the template DNA, but we know that complementary nucleotides are on the newly synthesized strands, not identical strands.

In the figure, II and III only make the statement true. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid and is a self-replicating material that nearly all living organisms have. DNA carries the organism's genetic information. Cells, which contain DNA, normally divide to multiply, causing the organism to grow, reproduce, and replenish dead cells.

A new replicated DNA molecule only has one radioactive strand. As the double helix divides, one radioactive nucleotide makes up each of the new molecules. Since the original molecule had two distinct nucleotides, the identical I and III cannot be correct.
