There aren't any like terms in this equation therefore it cannot be done

Its 8k squared because the k is a like term

I think that your answer is wrong because
6k+2k squared=36k+224k+4k=64k=8ksquared

There are no like terms in this algebraic expression, therefore we can do nothing to simplify it.
